“Mom Susanne, you have to come and help us. Here is such a great need, the people are starving, and there are thousands of orphans, and there is not enough help. Will you come and see, and help?” That was the cry Pastor Deverious sent me. We had met in Zambia 2 years earlier. God sent him to Malawi to start an outreach ministry.
We thank God that He gave us the opportunity to respond and to help our Christian brothers and sisters on another continent. As you can see in this picture the christian brothers and sisters are praying earnestly that God would send help. This year we were able to go to Malawi in the spring (May/June) for fact finding, feed the hungry, hold healing and deliverance services, teach and train the believers, and bring hope and a future for the needy. Sponsors were found for 5 of the teens that faithfully come to the church and are actively involved.
At the second Mission trip to Malawi in September Susanne was joined by Dr. Angelika Hettinger, Pharmacist from Switzerland. We purchased the building (a former Bar) that was for sale, and is used for ministry and church meetings, started the process of incorparation as a legal ministry, assessed the situation and the need further, held church gatherings for encouragement, preaching, teaching and training the believers, also providing food.
Our outreach does not only cover the slum areas of the City of Blantyre, but also the bush district of Phalombe and Mulange, where 7 pastors and churches have affiliated with us. We just received an e-mail reporting to us that our brothers and sisters in the bush have run out of food, as the crops have failed, and the rainy season has started. Since there is such a great need and the government and UNICEF help is not enough, they are asking us if we could raise funds, that would provide food for them.
During this season of givingplease remember the hungry orphans, and our brothers and sisters there, who have nothing and do not know where the next meal will come from. Please be generous and give. We have so much, and they have nothing. We are the hands and feet of Jesus, we are His extension on this earth. Proverbs 19:17 says: “He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward him for what he has done.” (NIV) Will you help us? We already are doing a lot. But we cannot do it alone. Your tax-deductible donations will go to them immediately through our direct line. We also will keep you updated of what happens to your giving fund.
As our brothers and sisters cry out to God in prayer moving the Father heart of God, will you respond with whatever you can do? The LORD will reward you, You cannot outgive God. Biggest NEED: Food and Bibles. Thank you so much for your help and consideration. There are many different ways you can help us! Our mission team is back from Malawi and we thank God for their safe return. Susanne Bouchard and her friend Angelika (doctor of pharmacy) from Switzerland brought back photos, videos, news, stories and letters from all of the sponsored children.
We are glad and excited about everything they have accomplished during their visit in Blantyre. Visit our website again in the near future to find out what’s happening in Malawi.
Helping the children in Africa is easier than you might think. There are many different ways you can make a change in their lives. For one, you can become a sponsor. Even that is easy! Just fill out our sponsorship form, pick a child and tell us what you would like to sponsor and send us the paperwork together with your first payment. Your child will appreciate your help and write you letters up to 4 times a year – if you would like to receive letters.
If you do not want to make a long-term commitment, there are also other ways to help the children in Malawi. You can make a change with a one-time donation. (Use this form if you would like to make a donation with your credit card) Finances are always needed – everywhere. You can either choose where your finances should go or we will send them where they are needed most, since we personally oversee our projects in Blantyre, Malawi and know what needs to be done.
Besides becoming a sponsor or making a one-time donation, you can also help by donating Bibles to Malawi. Most of the children we help are new Christians and want to get to know Jesus and grow in the Lord. We think they need spiritual help as much as physical help.
You are also welcome to join our mission team and go on short-term or long-term mission trips to Blantyre, Malawi. We are always looking for volunteers who would like to use their professional skills to bless the children in Malawi and their families.
